VEGETATION MANAGEMENT

Overgrown vegetation / brambles / long lush grass can be mowed by a different methods. HorticMan employs two of the best:

  1. Bi-directional All terrain alpine tractor equipped with a 1.3m heavy duty flail

  2. Irus Deltrak with either a forestry muncher or heavy duty flail

The Irus Deltrak is a unique and awesome machine.

This remote controlled mower fitted with a 42 inch cutting head can operate safely on banks with a gradient of up to 60 degrees whilst the operator remains on level ground up to 300m (line-of-sight) away thus providing the ability to cut inaccessible areas safely. Fitted with low ground pressure tracks equipped with spikes that reduce ground pressure and provide stable grip in all conditions (2psi), HorticMan Ltd has opted for heavy duty flails for cutting long grass / brambles and other woody growth.

The heavy flail mulcher head can cut and mulch heavy growth, old fibrous growth, lush new growth and heavy wet grass and we can cover large areas of terrain that would stall other modes of cutting. With its compact design, low center of gravity and weight the Irus Deltrak is also ideally suited to maintaining areas surrounding waterways, reservoirs, rivers and fragile wetlands.

Ideally suited to domestic and commercial applications. 

Our Deltrak can safely operate on roadside embankments, in the vicinity of power lines, on extreme, rugged, steep, inaccessible terrain where tractors and brush cutter teams would be unable to operate.


Embankment & Slope Cutting
The Health and Safety Executive has announced that embankments & slopes with a gradient in excess of 15 degrees should no longer be cut using standard cutting procedures. Local Authorities, etc. should conform to this recommendation or risk huge fines in the event of an accident.

Productivity

High work productivity is apparent especially in difficult terrain where The Irus Deltrak can replace as many as 25 Operatives with Brushcutters or 1 flail mower carried by a tractor. The unique drive system makes every move productive and Deltrak mowers do not waste any time by turning around while starting to cut a new row or while cutting around obstacles. The resulting productivity is higher than what other machines can offer.

Safety

Thanks to the remote control the operator is away from the dangerous working area and isn't exposed to vibrations of excessive noise. The mowers bring safe operation even in the toughest conditions.
